27 Sep Backsberg continues to bring out the joy in jazz with a symphony of chocolate and wine
The annual Standard Bank Joy of Jazz festival is upon us and Backsberg couldn’t be prouder to, once again, be the official wine supplier of the jamboree. Spanning over three days, 26 – 28 September 2019, the event is set to unleash the grooviest jazz rhythms into the city of Johannesburg. Guests can look forward to being reintroduced to their love of music while discovering some of the best artists in jazz and sipping on some of Backsberg’s finest wines.
The magic of the jazz world will take place at the Sandton Convention Centre across 5 stages. With over 40 performances scheduled to take place, audience members will enjoy an array of international artists as well as local up-and-coming jazz masters. Headline acts include multi-award-winning Mozambican composer and saxophonist, Moreira Chonguiça, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, singer & songwriter, Siphokazi, and the not-to-be-missed performance of Mzansi’s rising star, vocalist and pianist, Nomfundo Xaluva.
The rhythmic charms of these artists aren’t the only thing guests can look forward to! This year, Backsberg is pairing up with Huguenot Chocolates to bring attendees a tantalising complementary wine and chocolate pairing. The pairing will take place on both Levels 3 and 4 for attendees to enjoy throughout the three-day festival and will include four mouth-watering chocolates paired with four Backsberg wines.
