Backsberg Family Reserve Red 2005

This Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend came from low yielding, high density vineyards producing grapes with exceptional flavours of cassis, raspberry and tobacco. Extended skin contact and ageing in small French oak barriques have contributed added complexity via cedar and vanilla characters. Sheer fruit intensity and ample structure will allow this wine to gain further complexity in the bottle over the next ten years.
