Bastille Festival and Special French Dishes at Backsberg Restaurant

Backsberg, the gateway to the Franschhoek Wine Valley, is once again participating in the Bastille Festival in Franschhoek this weekend. We will have a wine and food stand in the Wine and Food Marquee as well as a stand in the VIP tent, showcasing our flagship wine, the Family Reserve White Blend.

We are also proud to say that our Pumphouse Shiraz 2008 and our Hillside Viognier 2009 has been selected to be tasted amongst 9 French Wines at public tastings on Saturday and Sunday.

Special French Dishes on offer over the Bastille Weekend at Backsberg Restaurant (14th and 15th July):

Saturday:

Vichyssoise (Potato & Leek Soup) R35 per person

Coq au Vin (Chicken in wine), served with creamed potato. R95 per person

Dessert: Crepes with a citrus sauce R38 per person

Combined special: R125 per person for all three of the above combined – receive your dessert at no cost.

 

Sunday:

Enjoy our famous three course buffet Lamb on the Spit with French touches to celebrate Bastille Day;

Vichyssoise (Potato & Leek Soup) will be included on the starter table and a French dessert will be added to the dessert offerings.
