Perfectly timed to coincide with Garden Day, Backsberg launched its ‘Let it Grow’ campaign on Sunday, 21 October, targeting 20 local ‘influencers’ to help share the love…
Backsberg is often regarding as one of the foremost South African producers in terms of innovative thinking, particularly in the domain of sustainability. As such, from the middle of October 2018 until end March 2019, Backsberg’s recently revised Sauvignon Blanc 2018 will be adorned with a seeded necktag in Checkers stores nationally. Consumers will have the opportunity to plant the seedtag, post to social media and, by doing so, stand a chance to win a year’s supply of Backsberg wine to the value of R15,000!
The idea around the campaign is to promote sustainable thinking in the retail space, and to encourage consumers to make eco-conscious choices when purchasing wine. To help promote the campaign, Backsberg selected 20 influencers, who each received a gift box including; a bottle of the special Sauvignon Blanc complete with seeded necktag, a posy made up with indigenous African daisies and buck bay vygies, and a gardening implement. The idea was for influencers to plant their seeds on Garden Day and encourage their followers to do the same, thereby helping the campaign to blossom. We are thrilled to have seen a fantastic response on social media thus far, so thank you to all those who have participated!
Though Garden Day was the perfect time to launch the ‘Let it Grow’ campaign, the competition runs up until March next year and we look forward to seeing many more seeds being planted, many more entries and, most importantly, more awareness around sustainable consumerism.
