Backsberg Hots-up Winter with Brandy and Blues Music

 

The warm-blooded blues-riffs from some of South Africa’s foremost blues artists will heat things up at Backsberg Estate Cellars in Paarl this winter with this famous wine estate’s inaugural series of Brandy and Blues Evenings. Adding to the atmosphere of authentic blues music is the fact that the events will take place in Backsberg’s Historic Vat Cellar, a piece of South African wine history in its own right. The atmosphere will be intimate, the sounds electric.

Piet Botha and Jake Gunn kick-off the winter Brandy and Blues Series on Friday 5 May. This intimate gig not only allows guests to get up close and personal with the artists, but the music will be complemented with some real comforting winter sustenance. A glass of Sydney Back Brandy or glühwein will greet guests on arrival, followed by a two-course dinner of slow-roasted lamb shank and Sydney Back Brandy pudding. Backsberg’s award-winning range of wines will also be available.

Guests are asked to be at the Vat Cellar by 18:30, with the artist’s first set commencing at 18:45. Dinner will be served at 19:30 during the first intermission.

Tickets are R300 per person inclusive of arrival drink, dinner with a glass of wine and entertainment. Alternative refreshments are for guests own account.
