Backsberg and Rotary S.A Support ShelterBox
Drinking wine is a luxury. Whether you buy a twenty buck bottle, or one for five hundred, they both have something in common: you do not need them. Every time you pour a glass of wine it signals how lucky you are; that your house has not been flooded by a tsunami, or destroyed by an earthquake; it should remind you that you are not destitute because of famine or war.
Thinking about this Backsberg has found another way to help those in need. We have partnered with Rotary International to support ShelterBox, an amazing organisation that responds instantly to natural and manmade disasters by delivering boxes of aid to those who are most in need. Each box supplies an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent and essential equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless.
The contents of the box may change depending on the conditions of the area, but generally the box includes a tent designed for ten people that can withstand extreme weather conditions, a children’s pack containing crayons, drawing books and pens; thermal blankets; a small tool-kit; and either a wood burning or multi-fuel stove.
Backsberg is donating 10% of any funds it receives from wines bought by Shelter Box supporters. At the check out point you have the option of indicating that you would like to support this initiative.
