Launch of the Backsberg Wine Club

Over the next month or so, I am going to be rolling out the Backsberg Wine Club. I am very excited about the Club. It’s very much my baby. Below is the first peek at what’s on the cards. Please let me know if anything is unclear or if you have any questions. I would like to involve you in the process. This letter serves as an introduction to the club:

Dear Future Club Member,

Backsberg is a family-owned wine farm near Paarl. The farm was started by my great-grandfather C.L Back in 1916, after arriving in South Africa as a Lithuanian immigrant in 1902. My great-grandfather was a family man, and that’s the vision for the club: it’s an extended family.

The club benefits are only limited to our imagination. If you can think of something by all means speak up. The club is about you.

How do I join?
Commit to buying 3 cases (36 bottles) of wine over the course of a year.

What wine do I get?
It’s up to you. Quarterly, I will put together a suggested case lot of wine, but I recognise that everyone likes something different and tastes change, so we can figure it out on the phone.

What is the guiding philosophy of the club?
This is a club for people who feel it’s important to take time to sit under oak trees, to laugh and to love, and to enjoy good food and wine with family and friends. It’s for those who are passionate about wine, and who believe life is too short to drink bad wine! This is a club for those who believe in care for the environment. I want this to be a space where you can connect with like-minded individuals and form long-lasting friendships.

My late grandfather Sydney was a big proponent of communicating and forming relationships directly with customers. I believe we have come full circle and I look forward to meeting and sharing good times with you.
